JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (L1 SUPPORT)

About the position We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to provide Level-1 (L1) technical support across hardware, operating systems, networking, and end-user computing. This role will support daily IT operations, assist end users, coordinate system deployment, and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide L1 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and basic macOS operating systems.
  • Perform hardware setup, upgrades, imaging, and device replacements.
  • Install, configure, and support standard business software applications.
  • Provide remote support using approved remote-access tools.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN/Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VPN).
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access-related issues.
  • Coordinate with users for system setup, issue resolution, and technical guidance.
  • Support new hire onboarding and employee offboarding processes.
  • Prepare, configure, and ship new laptops/desktops to end users.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
  • Update and manage tickets within the helpdesk system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT team members as needed.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support or an L1 technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing and supporting Windows OS and business applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN).
  • Experience using remote support and ticketing systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with users.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or endpoint management tools is a plus.
