We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our GrayMatter team. The Project Controls Specialist position will focus on managing work efficiently, with confidence and competence. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, a focus on the accuracy of work, and a strong dedication to completing tasks on time. This position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work. This position requires a collaborative, team-oriented attitude as you will be working closely with other Project Controls Specialists, as well as the assigned Project Managers and Operations leadership. Location: This is a remote position. General Job Duties: Timely creation and setup of projects in company business system once a customer PO is received Invoice both Time & Materials and Fixed Price projects to align with the proposal/contract Lead month-end revenue recognition process on assigned projects Monitor project performance and escalate concerns in a timely manner Create and analyze reports related to project and department performance metrics Monitor project execution and alert/recommend corrective actions based on observations and data (cost and schedule) Oversee and report performance and progress through analytical techniques to validate cost and schedule performance Support and coordinate project management activities Participate and/or lead discussions and planning leading to resolution of project issues and recovery Assist in generating content for customer facing reporting Review or complete project setups based on proposals, deliverables, tasks, costs, and schedule Review invoicing and payment status and resolves issues as needed Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner (e.g. timecard, expenses, etc.) Attend and participate in required meetings as assigned Other duties as assigned Travel - This position requires infrequent travel, typically less than 5%. When required, travel may be overnight. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required: 5+ years of experience as a project controls specialist or manager Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical subject required, Engineering, Business, or Finance preferred Familiarity with MES, SCADA/PLCs, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, IT/OT, and automation projects a plus PMP, CMP, or CCP Professional Certification desirable Demonstrated experience with Lump Sum/Fixed Fee and Time and Material contracting strategies Experience with Earned Value and similar Task Based project delivery methods/concepts required Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus Collaborative and outgoing communication style Ability to push for results and deliver to/meet deadlines Acute attention to detail, grammar, presentation, and process Experience with invoicing a plus Experience with cash flow and revenue forecasting Strong understanding and command of budget versus actuals Ability to create project schedules in Microsoft Project or Primavera a plus The target annual base compensation range for this position is $85,000-$115,000, based upon relevant qualifications.
