Director of Collections

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Collections to join our fast-growing team. The Director of Collections will play a crucial role in assisting with optimizing our verification, authorization and billing processes, enhancing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our front-end RCM operations. This individual will collaborate closely with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, as well as other directors, departments, and providers to streamline processes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the current Revenue Cycle Management to lead and oversee the departments, providing guidance, direction, and support to the team.

  • Develop and implement strategies, in conjunction with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, to optimize billing processes, improve workflows, and enhance efficiency.

  • Work closely with other directors and departments, alongside the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.

  • Assist in overseeing the verification and authorization departments, ensuring seamless coordination between billing, verification, and authorization processes.

  • Ensure compliance with billing regulations, standards, and guidelines, in partnership with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

  • Analyze data and trends, together with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to address challenges.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with providers, in collaboration with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Front end RCM operations, alongside the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, and take corrective actions as needed to meet targets.

  • Stay informed about changes in billing regulations, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements, working alongside the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

  • Develop and maintain documentation of billing processes, procedures, and policies, in partnership with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management.

  • Train and mentor teammates, in conjunction with the current Director of Revenue Cycle Management, to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with a large medical practice, with a strong preference for experience in Orthopedic, Pain Management, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and/or Chiropractic settings.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role in billing, revenue cycle management, or related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of billing processes, regulations, and best practices within the healthcare industry.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex data and trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of leading teams and driving results.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change.
