Job Description

Econometrica’s Solutions Architect will assume both an architecture role and that of a business analyst. They will be tasked with suggesting technological solutions and also working with microservices, writing and reviewing code. Econometrica’s Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and managing project-based IT systems, working with the broader Econometrica IT Group to ensure said systems work cohesively with existing software, hardware and network components. Econometrica’s Solutions Architect will also document the design and architecture of project based solutions; assist with the build out of said solutions; and oversee the ongoing maintenance and updates of project-based solutions. Daily tasks include debugging and creating performance analysis on implemented solutions, as well as documenting and sharing best practices and advocating for process improvements. Other daily tasks include communication with teams, customers, and project stakeholders, as well as providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document architectural models for systems, networks and software. Evaluate all business requirements and come up with solutions in the form of products or services. 
  • Excellent navigation and build out of Salesforce for various in-house projects. Maintenance and updates for in-house custom-built solutions within Salesforce and other environments.
  • Actively participate and lead relevant components for Econometrica achieving the Authority to Operate on various projects.
  • Evaluating and selecting technologies, conducting proof-of-concept projects, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct usability tests, develop prototypes, and prepare user guides to support end users.
  • Use different elements of business, information, and technology can be applied to solve a specific problem. Lead the integration of subsystems and components, ensuring a seamless data flow and system interoperability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful Solutions Architect should typically possesses:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and systems architecture.
  • Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, Salesforce, and both SQL, NoSQL systems.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (for example: Python, Java, C#, etc., and frameworks like Spring Boot or .NET.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams.

Work Environment  This position is remote, though candidates may choose to work in Econometrica’s office if they are local. Econometrica’s office is located in beautiful downtown Bethesda, MD. We are located at a Metro stop within walking distance of great restaurants and local fare. We have a typical office setting with a quiet-to-moderate noise level.
