Manager, Software Engineering

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced hands-on Manager Software Engineer to join our team. If you are passionate about software development and have a strong background in Java backends, Angular/React frontends, Cloud architecture, and Project leadership, this is the perfect opportunity. 

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field

• At least 7 years of professional experience in Java and Spring backend development

• At least 5 years of experience leading projects, including managing and coaching development teams, with hands‑on experience deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• At least 3 years of experience in frontend development with Angular/React

• At least 3 years of experience working with AI or data science projects, interacting with AI models, and building vector search solutions in Elasticsearch

It would be great if you also have . . .

• Project architecture and resource management skills with a focus on quality assurance and cloud infrastructure costs

• Ability to oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Knowledge of how to automate builds, tests and/or deployments.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Design, build and maintain various services and systems

• Guide and support developers, and follow coding standards and best practices in engineering, security, and design

• Resolve conflicts and remove team blockers

• Creating a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement

• Ensuring production stability and incident management

• Regularly report to stakeholders and share project progress to ensure smooth collaboration and project development

• Enjoys working with a diverse group of people with different expertise

• Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end

• Collaborate with solutions developed by our in-house Data Science Team

• Takes pride in delivering products and likes to take ownership

• Pay attention to details and develop a result-driven approach

• Good written and verbal English communication skills

Darts-ip/Clarivate is a leading Legal Tech company based in Belgium. Darts-ip's core mission is to make global Intellectual Property case law available and easily searchable for our customers through a SaaS application. Our global IT team is responsible for developing and maintaining this application and all associated services.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in the CET time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.
