Manager - Security Systems & Data Center

Manage the strategic planning and implementation of physical security systems (such as CCTV, ACS, PAVA, FAS, RIDS, FIDS, etc.) along with data centers to ensure the safety and integrity of facilities and the reliability of IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of data centres and physical security systems.

  • Lead risk assessments and design security measures to protect the company's data and infrastructure.

  • Manage issues and provide advise to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with hardware, software, and network systems within the data centre.

  • Participate in disaster recovery, business continuity planning and testing to ensure the availability and reliability of the data centre.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging technologies.

  • Provide leadership guidance in crisis situations related to security and data centre operations.

  • Ensure the security and integrity of the data center and its systems and data, including implementing security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and backup procedures.

  • Develop, update and monitor documentation for all data center systems and processes, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

  • Manage vendor relationships and lead contract negotiation for hardware, software, and services.

  • Stay current with industry developments and new technologies and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements to the data canter as needed.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the IT and security teams and work with other departments to ensure that the data canter is meeting their needs.

  • Lead and manage a team of data canter engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure that the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to support the data canter infrastructure.

  • Lead a team responsible for the continuous improvement of various systems.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for technology upgrades and integration projects.

  • Define the strategy and vision for the data center.

  • Enforce compliance with the company's overall goals and objectives, security standards and protocols, and regulations, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC.

  • Deliver regular reporting and updates on the status and performance of the data canter to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Implement innovative technologies for both operations and projects aligning with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Engineering or a related field.

  • Certification in security systems or data centre management will be a plus

  • Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role

  • General knowledge of current and emerging technologies in Network, Public Cloud, Security systems and IT hardware.

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.

  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Keep attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
