Job Type: Full-time position

About This Role

The National Account Manager – Industrial Manufacturing & Power Generation is responsible for driving OEM-led national account growth by positioning a single, trusted fire and life safety manufacturer as the preferred enterprise partner across multi-site industrial, manufacturing, and power generation portfolios.

This role focuses on top-down, influence-based selling, targeting enterprise EHS leaders, plant operations, engineering, and corporate procurement teams to create national specifications, preferred vendor programs, and lifecycle strategies that pull product, services, and solutions through the channel ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned hunter with a proven track record selling into industrial manufacturing and energy environments, established relationships within manufacturing and power generation organizations, and the executive presence to influence corporate and plant-level decision makers. This individual understands where capital budgets, shutdown cycles, and compliance-driven initiatives originate—and how to align OEM value to those drivers.

Key Responsibilities

OEM-Led National Account Strategy

  • Identify, develop, and close new national industrial manufacturing and power generation accounts through an OEM-led, specification-driven sales approach.
  • Establish preferred manufacturer status, national standards, or enterprise agreements with industrial operators, manufacturers, and power generation companies.
  • Drive product and solution pull-through by influencing engineering standards, EHS requirements, and lifecycle strategies across national portfolios.
  • Build long-term, strategic relationships that extend beyond individual projects to multi-year enterprise programs.

Executive & Enterprise Engagement

  • Lead executive-level discussions with EHS, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement leadership, clearly articulating the value of an OEM-led fire and life safety strategy, including:
    • OSHA 29 CFR 1910.165 compliance alignment
    • Risk reduction and life safety system reliability
    • Operational uptime and business continuity
    • Standardization across facilities
    • Simplified vendor and lifecycle management
    • Long-term total cost of ownership
  • Translate technical fire and life safety requirements into business and operational outcomes for enterprise stakeholders.
  • Serve as the executive face of the manufacturer for assigned industrial accounts.

Industrial Market Intelligence & Project Origination

  • Maintain strong visibility into active and upcoming capital, retrofit, and service budgets across industrial manufacturing and power generation portfolios.
  • Identify early-stage opportunities tied to:
    • Plant expansions and new construction
    • Shutdowns and planned outages
    • Code-driven upgrades and system obsolescence
    • M&A and facility consolidation
    • Reliability and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor on enterprise life safety strategy aligned to operational and regulatory requirements.

Channel Enablement & Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with authorized integrators, service providers, and internal OEM teams to execute national programs.
  • Align sales efforts with engineering, design, project management, service, and product teams to deliver scalable, repeatable solutions.
  • Ensure seamless handoff from national account strategy field execution while maintaining accountability and customer confidence.
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback to influence product development, service models, and OEM program strategy.

Industry Leadership & Visibility

  • Represent the organization at industrial, manufacturing, and power generation conferences and trade events.
  • Build relationships within EHS, engineering, and operations leadership communities.
  • Position the OEM as a trusted advisor in life safety, compliance, and risk mitigation across industrial environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of fire and life safety sales, with a strong emphasis on OEM-led or manufacturer-driven national accounts
  • Proven success selling enterprise-level fire and life safety solutions through an influence-based sales model
  • Established relationships within industrial manufacturing, energy, or power generation sectors
  • Demonstrated understanding of how capital, maintenance, and compliance budgets are developed at the enterprise level
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, life safety requirements, and applicable industrial standards including OSHA 29 CFR 1910.165
  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel nationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in fire and life safety sales within industrial or power generation environments
  • Experience establishing national specifications or enterprise-level manufacturer agreements
  • Familiarity with plant operations, shutdown cycles, and industrial compliance frameworks
  • Background working with multi-site modernization, service, and lifecycle programs
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
  • NICET or OEM technical certifications
