If so, the City of Santa Clara is looking for a dedicated Recreation Specialist to join our team! As a Recreation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to create and implement engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our community. We are seeking a highly organized and creative individual with excellent communication skills and a strong background in recreation. Develop and implement recreational programs and activities for individuals of all ages in the community. Collaborate with other team members to design and coordinate programs that promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Conduct research and stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in the field of recreation. Ensure that all programs and activities are safe, inclusive, and accessible for all participants. Communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and community members to promote and advertise programs and activities. Manage program budgets and resources to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Supervise and train staff and volunteers involved in recreational programs and activities. Monitor and evaluate the success of programs and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement. Foster a positive and welcoming environment for all participants, promoting diversity and inclusivity. Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and participants. Collaborate with local organizations and businesses to enhance and expand recreational opportunities for the community. Stay informed on relevant laws, regulations, and safety protocols related to recreational programs and activities. Represent the City of Santa Clara and act as a positive role model for the community. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and workshops. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
