Software Engineering Partner - AI Automation Systems

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-26

Software Engineering Partner - AI Automation Systems Plato+ Remote (Preferred overlap with U.S. Pacific Time) Mission Plato+ builds innovative, productized services powered by modern technology and guided by exceptional people. We deliver personalized support and real partnership, helping clients achieve their educational and business goals. The Challenge: Lead and Deliver a High-Impact Product This is a highly difficult partnership position for self-motivated builders who are ready to take end to end accountability for shipping a product that delivers measurable, bottom-line value to enterprise customers. This role is extraordinarily demanding, pushing the frontiers of AI technology and working with novel product development approaches. If you thrive on exceptionally high standards, dedication, and the thrill of conquering complex problems, welcome home. We only want truly dedicated individuals who want to push the limits of their own potential and make a real impact on the world and their own future. About The Product: ClearCurrent ClearCurrent is an AI-powered intelligence engine accelerating communities' access to clean, safe water. It aggregates and structures public information, then surfaces high-value opportunities so the right vendors and partners can act faster and more effectively. Our vision is to uncover hidden signals buried in fragmented paperwork, surface opportunities early, and create a learning system that continuously improves how we prioritize vulnerable areas. The result is faster action, broader access to potable water, and ripple effects that can transform thousands of lives. If you are passionate about engineering real public impact, join us in building this vital system. What This Role Demands You will operate inside our Demo → Sell → Build framework. You are not only engineering systems, you are shaping the product directly with real customers. You will build the demo quickly, join early sales calls, help land pilot partners who co-fund development, and then use that funding to build the production system you will own. This role is for someone who wants their work to directly generate traction, revenue, and real-world adoption. The Demands

  • Visionary leader and hands-on builder who guides interns while personally owning core systems built for production-grade reliability.
  • Demo → Sell → Build operator who builds the demo fast, joins potential-customer meetings, supports early sales conversations, helps design the pilot program, and converts pilot revenue into product development.
  • Engineer who builds robustly from day one, creating reliable, scalable, deterministic systems with minimal maintenance so the team can focus on growth instead of fixing issues.
  • Output-focused builder who ships the MVP within 30 days and then maintains and improves it as demo leads convert into pilot partners and paying accounts.
  • Extreme ownership mindset with full accountability for architecture, code quality, automation, delivery, client outcomes, and team execution from start to finish.
  • Revenue-aligned contributor who understands that compensation grows directly with the revenue their systems help generate.
  • Customer-facing engineer who is comfortable talking to prospects, joining sales calls, gathering real-time feedback, and shaping the product based on real needs.
  • Team-first builder who mentors interns, enforces high standards, and pushes the boundaries of what AI automation can accomplish.

Compensation and Partnership Value This is not a salaried role. It is a revenue share tied directly to the ClearCurrent product line and the clients it serves. You will earn 15% of all revenue generated through the system you build and maintain, including both early pilots and long-term retainers. If you are looking for a steady paycheck, this is not the right fit. If you want to build something real and get paid based on what it earns, this is that kind of role. Bottom line: You earn 15% of all gross revenue from ClearCurrent clients, for as long as you are the primary owner of the system and we are using the platform you built. What That Looks Like Months 0 to 2: Build the demo There is no revenue yet. You help ship a working version of ClearCurrent that is good enough to show, test, and sell. Months 3 to 6: First paid pilots Pilot clients pay in the low to mid five figures per month for several months. You earn revenue share as soon as those deals close. For example, at a 15,000 dollar monthly pilot rate:

  • 2 clients = 4,500 dollars per month to you
  • 3 clients = 6,750 dollars per month to you

That revenue helps fund further development and pays you directly. Months 6 to 12: Ongoing retainers Pilot clients convert into higher-value retainers, depending on scope and scale. At similar rates:

  • 5 clients = 11,250 dollars per month to you
  • 10 clients = 22,500 dollars per month to you
  • 15 clients = 33,750 dollars per month to you

You are paid based on performance, not potential. If the product delivers, the revenue is real and your share is too. If you want to build something that matters, take full responsibility for results, and get paid based on actual outcomes, this is that role. Logistics

  • Location: Remote (Preferred overlap with U.S. Pacific Time)
  • Term: Ongoing partnership, starting with a 30-day MVP sprint.
  • Commitment: Output-based, not hourly. Dedicate what is needed to hit milestones, with intense focus during the initial build, then maintenance and scaling post-launch.
  • Availability: Maintain a minimum 3 hour daily availability window, Monday through Friday, overlapping 9am to 5pm U.S. Pacific Time. We may not need the full time every day, but you must be able to join when required.

What You Will Actually Ship (Leading Your Team) You will lead the design and implementation of the core ClearCurrent system, including:

  • A reliable data ingestion and normalization layer from diverse public sources.
  • A scoring and prioritization engine that ranks opportunities using clear, explainable criteria.
  • A brief generation flow that turns raw data into concise, decision-ready summaries for clients.
  • Outreach and scheduling automations that trigger targeted campaigns and book qualified meetings.
  • Monitoring and audit tools that make the system observable, trustworthy, and easy to improve over time.

You will own these systems from prototype to production and iterate on them as we scale meetings, impact, and revenue. What You Bring

  • Senior engineer with a track record shipping production AI systems and low-maintenance automations.
  • Leadership skills to manage and motivate a small team, such as interns, to deliver under deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency with modern automation tools, data modeling, email outreach platforms, APIs, SQL, and LLM prompting.
  • Strategic mindset: build for scale and revenue, not just features, with systems that are resilient and forward-looking.
  • Passion for impact and alignment with ClearCurrent’s mission to drive real-world change through AI.

Our Team and Culture We aim to create outsized value and grow fast, as a company and as individuals. We work hard, think deeply, and let the best ideas win. We are seeking true partners committed to long-term growth with Plato+, not agencies or fleeting collaborators, but individuals with a 5 to 10 year horizon and an enduring alliance for compounding benefits. If you want to ship real products, build a real career, and be surrounded by people who make you better, this is your place. As a partner, you will be integral to our growth, sharing in the success you help create. Job Type: Contract Pay: $4,500.00 - $33,750.00 per month Application Question(s):

  • This role is revenue share only. There is no base salary or hourly pay. You earn 15 percent of the revenue generated by the ClearCurrent product you build and maintain. Are you still interested in this role under those terms?
  • How many years of full time professional software development experience do you have?
  • How many years have you worked as a backend or full stack engineer on production systems used by real customers?
  • Can you consistently provide at least 3 hours of availability each weekday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. United States Pacific Time?
  • The role starts with a 30 day sprint to ship a working MVP of ClearCurrent good enough to demo and sell. Are you able to commit the focus and time required to lead and deliver that MVP in the first 30 days?
  • Are you legally allowed to work as an independent contractor for a company based in the United States?
