Job Overview

A law firm seeks an entry-level associate attorney to join its Portland, Oregon office. This position offers immediate courtroom experience and the opportunity to work on complex family law cases. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, gaining hands-on experience and developing litigation skills in a supportive environment.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft documents with attention to detail.
  • Prepare and litigate family law cases, including hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with associates and shareholders on complex legal matters.
  • Meet with clients to build rapport and manage cases effectively.
  • Participate actively in the firm's community and culture.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Oregon.
  • 0-4 years of experience in family law preferred.
  • Experience in family law litigation, including hearings and mediations, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Oregon State Bar license.

  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
